TPD-10 A Truck Photographer’s Diary, Vol. 10–Keep On Truckin’ – The West, is intended to provide historic photographic documentation of trucks from a bygone era, primarily the 1950s and 1960s. There are also some photos from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. The photo album contains well over 300 images; some photos were taken by me, some are company promotional and advertising photos, and some were taken by unknown photographer(s). Also included are some vintage advertisements that feature truck photos. The photos are of carriers from the West and Southwest areas of the United States. Also included are several mini photo essays; when I drove for Leprino Transportation and when I drove for NW Transport Service. Many of the photos in this CD album were taken by author David A. Bontrager, who is well-known for his classic and unique images of trucks and trains from the 1950s through the present day. This is an excellent sampling of his private collection of truck photos. The images are in pristine condition and view excellent on screen. Some are less than perfect, but I feel the historic value of the trucks shown out weighs the technical aspects of the photo.
